About the Role

As a Trainee Lecturer based at our West Thames Campus, you'll work closely with experienced colleagues to plan and deliver engaging, person-centred learning for groups of 6–10 learners. You'll inspire, motivate and support learners with a range of abilities, ensuring every individual is given the opportunity to achieve their personal goals.

You'll contribute to delivering high-quality teaching across the College curriculum while developing your own teaching practice through mentoring, observation and professional development.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that meet individual learner needs.
  • Support learners to achieve the outcomes identified in their Person-Centred Learning Plans (PLPs).
  • Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, learning resources and assessments.
  • Monitor learner progress through accurate assessment, recording and tracking.
  • Manage a classroom environment that is safe, supportive and motivating.
  • Direct and work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants to maximise learner achievement.
  • Use digital technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance activities and inspection preparation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes for learners.
  • Ensure safeguarding, equality, diversity, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection policies are always upheld.
  • Travel and work across Ambitious College sites and external venues where required.
